Gerry Byrne says he’s not hearing any negativity concerning the new Churchill Falls Hydro electric deal.

Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne says he’s not hearing any negativity concerning the new Churchill Falls Hydro electric deal. Last week, Premier Andrew Furey and Quebec Premier Francois Legault signed a memorandum of understanding on a new deal. Byrne says the new deal changes everything with a new contract that gives us 30 times the revenue in the final 17 years of the former Churchill Falls contract. He says this deal goes farther with additional developments for NL with zero risks and tens of billions worth of construction. The next step is for the fine print to be discussed in the House of Assembly. The new deal is expected to bring ¼ trillion of new revenue into the province up to 2075.
