It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week and this year’s theme is “Volunteers Make Waves.” The purpose is to highlight the power, impact and importance of individual and collective volunteer efforts across Canada. Volunteers create a positive impact in our communities. Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says volunteers help by filling the gaps. He says from churches that feed the hungry to the Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue, these people provide an important service.
