Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says something needs to be done about the number of businesses for sale in the Broadway area. Parsons says the West Street area is doing fine. He says council is in the midst of working on a municipal plan and are also looking at how to entice more businesses into the Brook Street and Commercial Street areas. Parsons says the Downtown Business Association disbanded some time ago but council is hopeful to see a return of a similar group. He says they have a draft of the municipal plan and are working with consultants on touch ups. Parsons expects the final plan to be ready in about 6 months.
