Corner Brook still has 3 months to go to the cruise season.
The Mayor of Corner Brook says this city is on track to becoming the cruise capital of Newfoundland and Labrador. Jim Parsons says while there were a few cancellations due to ice at the start of the season, Corner Brook still has 3 months to go to the cruise season. “We’ve added the ability to be able to dock boats off port and bring passengers in by a smaller boat,” he says. “They are working closely with cargo shippers to avoid those conflicts.” The Zaandam arrived at the Port of Corner Brook this morning marking Holland America’s 150th anniversary. Mayor Parsons says he expects more visitors. “We are getting more and more cruise visits every year and already have a lot booked for next year,” he says. “We are bringing in as much as St. John’s now and a lot of people don’t know that.” There will be days in September and October when 2 cruise ships are due in the Port of Corner Brook at the same time.
