RCMP NL responds to over 1,000 calls from Friday to Tuesday

    This included incidents of intimate partner violence, sudden deaths, missing persons, structure fires, alarm calls, off-road vehicle violations, violations of the Liquor Control Act, boaters in distress, suspicious persons or vehicles, service of court documents and municipal bylaw enforcement.

    Between Friday, June 28th and Tuesday, July 1st, RCMP responded to more than 1,000 calls. Corporal Jolene Garland says these calls included incidents of intimate partner violence, sudden deaths, missing persons, structure fires, alarm calls, off-road vehicle violations, violations of the Liquor Control Act, boaters in distress, suspicious persons or vehicles, service of court documents and municipal bylaw enforcement. Officers were also on the roadways from 41 detachments. More than 60 of these calls for service resulted in charges.
