A couple of members noticed a town resident drive by with their cell phone up to the vehicle window.
The South Shore Volunteer Fire Department issued a social media post shortly after 6:30 last night. The facebook post starts with, “Once again we are needing to put up a post to inform town residents to please not follow the emergency vehicles to a scene.” There was a medical call about an hour before the post was made. It created so much traffic congestion and major hazards for firefighters and first responders, the road had to be closed. A couple of members noticed a town resident drive by with their cell phone up to the vehicle window. Cell phone use while driving is prohibited and as first responders, this action is reported to police. Members hope those responsible realize their mistake. If this continues, members will report license plate numbers to the RNC.
