Money to help Ukrainians here raise a family and find work

More than  $11 million has been announced to help Ukrainians settle and raise families in this province. It includes more housing supports and the new Ukraine Job Connect initiative for employers. A province-wide homestay program will give host families up to $1000 a month for up to 5 months. Ukrainians moving to areas outside the capital city can get $4,000 for moving expenses. There is a $3 million dollar call for housing project proposals, like repurposing vacant property, repair or maintenance, and co-housing initiatives. English classes will be expanded with workplace-based English support put in place. Employment services will include a 42-week wage subsidy and  help for employers.
