$123.1 million for 73 projects that will increase access to drinking water

    Humber Arm South will be doing upgrades on the storm sewer system and will construct a new chlorination building, while across the bay in Meadows they’ll be replacing the lift station and McIvers will be working on the water treatments system.

    $123.1M is being allocated for 73 municipal infrastructure projects that increase access to drinking water. It also includes solid waste systems to support current and future populations. The province and the federal government have finalized a 10-year agreement under the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund (CHIF). Projects will be cost shared between the federal government, the province and municipalities. Humber Arm South will be doing upgrades on the storm sewer system and will construct a new chlorination building, while across the bay in Meadows they’ll be replacing the lift station and McIvers will be working on the water treatments system. The town of Deer Lake will be making upgrades to lift stations, and Pasadena will extend waterlines.  Bay St. George South will be making improvements to the Jeffrey’s Pumphouse, Cape St. George will replace the  waterline, and the town of Lourdes is making improvements to the water treatment facility.
