The Games will take place in Corner Brook from Saturday, August 8 to Saturday, August 15, 2026, bringing together more than 1600 athletes from across the province, along with coaches, volunteers, and fans, for a week-long celebration of sport, community, and tradition.
It’s only the second week on the job for Cassidy Mercer but work is underway to form a Host Committee. as the Games Manager for the 2026 NL Summer Games, but which will mark the 50th anniversary of the Newfoundland and Labrador Games. Mercer held the role as Volunteer Coordinator with the 2025 Canada Games that took place in St. John’s and says there is an amazing group of volunteers already in place for next year’s event. She says they’re looking to fill a few key roles, such as directors of finance, accommodation, medical services and transportation.
