The sinkhole outside of Bayfm should be fixed by next Friday, that is if all things go according to plans. It’s been about 3 weeks since the area leading to the Corner Brook Stream Trail was closed to walkers. Rod Follett is the Supervisor of Public Works with the City of Corner Brook. He says the damaged pipe was removed Tuesday. Follett says the area should be backfilled and open to walkers by the end of next week. Follett says the pipe system in the area takes a lot of water from many areas in the city and even the highway. Follett says that’s why they want to make sure there are strong joints and connections.
