The Affordable Rental Housing Program will provide one-time capital funding in the form of a forgivable loan.
Government is looking for proposals to build 850 affordable rental homes containing a minimum of 4 units each throughout the province. There can be a maximum of 20 units. The Affordable Rental Housing Program will provide one-time capital funding in the form of a forgivable loan for new homes through partnerships with the private and community housing sectors. They must cater to supporting seniors, young adults, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, newcomers, women and children fleeing violence and people experiencing homelessness. Selected projects will be announced in September.
