    879 is a new area code for NL

    The new area code will cover larger communities like Corner Brook, Stephenville, Bay Roberts, Carbonear, Clarenville, Grand Falls- Windsor, Twillingate, and St. John’s.  

    Newfoundland and Labrador has a new area code to go along with our existing 709 area code. The new code started over the weekend will be 879. It was introduced as an overlay to be able to serve the whole province. The new area code will cover larger communities like Corner Brook, Stephenville, Bay Roberts, Carbonear, Clarenville, Grand Falls- Windsor, Twillingate, and St. John’s.
