A fire in Lark Harbour early this morning flattened a couple of homes, which were unoccupied at the time. It happened around three o’clock this morning. Paul Macdonald is the fire chief of the volunteer fire brigade of Lark Harbour/York Harbour. He says the call came in through 9-1-1 but by the time they arrived, the blaze was out of control and it was windy. Macdonald says a couple of homes adjacent to the fire had melted siding due to the heat. He says homes in the area are very close to each other and this can be scary. The next step is a fire investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Macdonald says one home was probably 100 years old and was a beautiful Victorian style.
