The new Off-Road Vehicles Act and Regulations, most of which came into effect on May 19th will include mandatory training requirements for certain users when the training section of the Act is put into force in the coming months.
There’s a free safety training program available on MyGovNL for users of off-road vehicles, just in time as the province prepares to make training mandatory for some users later this year. The public will be notified when that date is set. Training will be required for those under 16 years of age, anyone who is registering an off-road vehicle for the first time, or those who have been convicted of an offence under the Act. As well, anyone who is supervising a person under the age of 16 who is operating an off-road vehicle will have to ensure that the person has completed a training program.
