It’s a statement that has generated a lot of comments on social media. As of October 1st, 2026, artificial flowers will no longer be permitted at Mount Patricia Cemetery. A post made on a Facebook classifieds group over the weekend has generated quite a discussion over a new policy at Mount Patricia Cemetery. It showed a screenshot from the cemetery’s website, dated January 28, advising that artificial flowers will no longer be permitted on gravesites after October 1, 2026. Real flowers and potted plants will not be affected by this change. However, many on social media expressed concerns over the cost of purchasing real flowers, and the short life span of such arrangements.
BayFM News has reached out to Mount Patricia Cemetery for an interview and was told the association will be meeting this Thursday and would be available for comment afterwards.
