The Department of Industry, Energy and Technology is attending the Association for Mineral Exploration Roundup (AME) Conference in Vancouver, B.C., this week. (January 22-25, 2024.) Minister Andrew Parsons says the department has been going to this event for the past 25 years. He says upwards of 7 thousand people attend this event. Parsons says it’s a great chance to talk about opportunities and the newly launched Critical Minerals Plan will help unlock the full potential and maximize the value of Newfoundland and Labrador’s critical mineral resources. The estimated mineral activity here in 2023 resulted in over $4.35 billion in mineral shipments, $243 million in exploration expenditures, and employment of approximately 8,500 person years.
