Denise Hanrahan says their inventory is valued at just shy of twenty million dollars and there were gaps in policies and procedures.

The House of Assembly received an audit report on the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary yesterday.  Auditor General Denise Hanrahan, tabled the document that contains findings and recommendations regarding the Constabulary’s failure to effectively manage inventories and employee training. She says their inventory is valued at just shy of twenty million dollars and there were gaps in policies and procedures. Hanrahan says they looked at management of employee training for all staff members and found issues with their policies, procedures and  the provision of training. She says the nature of RNC work is sensitive and often dangerous; so are the items in their inventories.
