NLC President and CEO Bruce Keating talks about the numbers.
Nearly 65 percent of the illicit cannabis market in this province is now being captured by the Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation. President and CEO Bruce Keating says this has happened since cannabis was legalized in 2018. He says they are working in teams to target illegal marijuana and have confiscated marijuna with a street value of about 4 million dollars. Keating says a big contributor to cannabis profit is the legalization of vape cannabis. He says NLC is also in the process of making improvements to establishments across the province, including the one at the former Humber Gardens. Alcohol and cannabis sales totalled $349.3 million compared to $318.9 million in 2022
