At Monday night’s meeting, Corner Brook city council approved a lease amendment between the City and the Kinsmen Club of Corner Brook for the land known as Prince Edward Park. This extends their lease for a further ten years to 2038, and in that time they have plans to improve and develop the space. Kinsmen president Steve Churchill says the Corner Brook Kinsmen will become the Corner Brook Kin Club, which means women can join. Churchill says the club is busy now planning for the Corner Brook Winter Carnival next month. He says they recruited 6 new members recently but are looking forward to welcoming more this year.
