Jim Parsons says public works staff will be doing the curbside pick up this year and so far, there are getting a lot of requests for appointments.
The city of Corner Brook is taking a two-pronged approach to spring clean up this year. Residents have options of putting bulk garbage to the curb and making an appointment for pickup or loads can be dropped off at the Wild Cove landfill site free of charge for city residents. Mayor Jim Parsons says the main reason for the change this year is the increasing cost. He says residents can even bring home renovation waste to the dump until early June anytime they are open. Parsons says when they tried this during Christmas, it worked really well. He says public works staff will be doing the curbside pick up this year and so far, there are getting a lot of requests for appointments.
