Estimated downtime is approximately three weeks.

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited has temporarily suspended all forest operations as of August 9 due to the ongoing wildfire situation in Newfoundland & Labrador. The decision to half production aligns with emergency measures introduced by provincial authorities to help safeguard communities and natural resources in areas facing very high and extreme fire risk.

While woodland operations ceased as of August 9, a lack of material the mill's wood yard means papermaking operations will also be paused starting August 15. Kruger says customer needs are being managed proactively on a case-by-case basis, leveraging inventories to minimize disruption.

With no significant rainfall expected in the coming days, Kruger says the estimated downtime is approximately three weeks.
