Representatives from the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association (DIPRA) recently presented a certificate to the city signifying an honourary membership in their  Century City Club.

Corner Brook is now part of a unique club and it’s because there are cast iron underground pressure mains in continuous service for 100 years or more. Representatives from the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association (DIPRA) recently presented a certificate to the city signifying an honourary membership in their Century City Club. Founded in 1915, the group has served as a resource and technical advisor to the water industry. The Cast Iron Pipe Century Club was organized in 1947 to publicly recognize water utilities with Cast Iron mains that have provided service for 100 years or more. There are more than  35 water utilities in Canada and 550 in the United States that are members of DIPRA's Century Club.
