Members of the Corner Brook Vikings Special Olympics team are gearing up to show off more than just their physical abilities. There will be a fundraiser for the team 8 p.m. on June 5th at the Rotary Arts centre. Melanie Gosse has been a music teacher for the past couple of decades, and says the idea for this came from special olympian Sarah Flight. Gosse says the show will include special guests Ian Locke, Yvette Coleman and Marcelle Boisjoli. She says the athletes put the show together. One of Gosse’s students, Rebecca Hampton has written a special anthem for the show. Sarah Flight says all money raised will go to the Corner Brook Vikings. Flight is an athlete in four sports including bowling, snowshoeing, track and field, and bocci. Hampton likes bowling and bocci.
