Crews will be working on widening Corner Brook city streets with the snowblowers and baskets starting today. At last night’s regular meeting, council discussed the process and how decisions are made on which streets get cleared first. City Manager Rodney Cumby says there are 7 main runs throughout the city and it takes upwards of 8 hours to complete each run, then secondary roads are done. He says extra loaders are assigned to the Curling and Heights runs. Cumby says this week’s snow blowing should be done before this weekend. Parking lots are cleared by contractors who also provide extra equipment when needed. Small roads are also handled by contractors.
