Deal reached for lobster harvesters - no movement on crab

It looks like there’s a deal on the table for lobster harvesters and they’re headed out today to fish.

Last week, about 75 people blocked access to the Barry fish plant in Benoit’s Cove when the plant refused to buy lobster at 9 dollars a pound. Johnny Gilbert is the FFAW rep for the Bay of Islands. He’s not sure what price buyers will be paying but it should be close to 9 dollars a pound. Gibert says they’ve lost time in the season and are concerned about the catch limit of 1000lbs a day. He says right now they’re not catching that much but will as long as buyers are buying. Still no movement with crab as harvesters say they can’t fish crab for $2.20 a pound.
