On Saturday and yesterday, the bottom of University Drive was closed to traffic as the project moved back to Phase three.

Corner Brook’s Director of Engineering, Donny Burden says the Deep Gulch project is probably the biggest excavation capital project to ever take place in the city. It’s in an area at the intersection of O’Connell Drive and University Drive, and involved the replacement of a major culvert. Burden says the project itself is very complex.

On Saturday and yesterday, the bottom of University Drive was closed to traffic as the project moved back to Phase three. Meanwhile, just up the street, the city is also replacing traffic lights and working on the intersection of Elizabeth Street and O’Connell Drive. Burden says there could be traffic delays. Work started on the Deep Gulch Culvert replacement on June 10th
