Work is ongoing now on the end wall where pipes will come out and water will flow into Corner Brook stream.
A large diameter aging culvert is being replaced in Corner Brook and it’s actually in an area near the RNC where there have been sinkholes in the past. Just finishing up the Mt. Bernard Reconstruction project, work has now started next to it on the Deep Gulch Project. Mayor Jim Parsons says the culvert is underneath the intersection / University Drive. He says the project involves putting two very deep storm sewer lines. Work is ongoing now on the end wall where pipes will come out and water will flow into Corner Brook stream. The scope of the project includes the placement of 135 metres of new high density polyethylene twin culverts and two new headwalls about 50 feet deep.
