Deer Lake Fire Rescue are putting out a plea for everyone to be fire safe after a close call. The group posted on their facebook page earlier this week that they had to respond to a fire call in the middle of the woods in the community and say they were incredibly fortunate that someone saw the smoke, reported it immediately, and that they were able to roll onto the scene fast enough to catch it before it got out of hand. They remind everyone to please be vigilant. If you see smoke, DON’T HESITATE! Report it IMMEDIATELY. To report a wildfire call 1.866.709.FIRE (3473)
