The Department of Education has provided a statement involving a school bus accident near Little Rapids on January 12th. The school bus was servicing C.C. Loughlin Elementary and Corner Brook Intermediate. The bus had just finished doing a pick-up and when making the turn, slid off the road. There were four students on board. An ambulance arrived and checked everyone on board and reported there were no injuries. A spare bus was dispatched. All students were brought to school. RCMP and Highway Enforcement are investigating the accident. The safety of students and staff travelling on school buses is imperative. School staff will speak with the students who were on the bus at the time and will complete the required Incident Report Forms as per policy. The information obtained from these forms is used to help increase the safety of students and staff.
