Federal funding for dementia-inclusive communities

    Health Minister Tom Osborne says over 10,000 people in this province live with dementia.

    The federal government has announced $716, 000 aimed at raising awareness of dementia and dementia-inclusive communities. Avalon MP Ken McDonald made the announcement in Placentia today. Health Minister Tom Osborne says over 10,000 people in this province live with dementia. He says it’s important they feel support while they still can. Osborne says 8 communities will create dementia friendly projects that raise awareness and improve the quality of life for those with dementia. The health Minister says it’s everyone’s responsibility to make communities dementia-friendly.
