Fisheries Minister Gerry Byrne has announced funding to support the establishment of a sustainable redfish fishery. An investment of $47,000 to the Fish, Food and Allied Workers Union from the Fisheries Research Grant Program will support experimental fishing work of Unit 1 redfish in Western Newfoundland. The funding will aid in the development of a redfish fishery that is economically and environmentally sustainable.
