    Five people have died from a salmonella outbreak from Mexican cantaloupes

    As of December 7th, there have been 129 laboratory-confirmed cases linked to this outbreak in NL, New Brunswick, PEI, Ontario and  Quebec.

    Public Health Canada is looking into an outbreak of salmonella poisoning from cantaloupes. As of December 7th, there have been 129 laboratory-confirmed cases linked to this outbreak in NL, New Brunswick, PEI, Ontario and  Quebec. Individuals became sick between mid-October and mid-November. Forty-four (44) people have been hospitalized and five deaths have been reported. Food recall warnings were issued last month for Malichita and Rudy brands cantaloupes.
