Government is working to attract more health care professionals
This month, 42 medical residents have accepted bursaries from government in return for up to 36 months working in this province. This is in addition to the 22 fourth year med students who accepted bursaries in exchange for a one year work term here. Some of the residents will be heading to work in Corner Brook. Those who choose to work in rural areas can qualify for up to $90,000, while those in St.John’s would get $40,000.
