Government has announced proposed amendments to the Memorial University Act for second reading in the House of Assembly. If passed, these amendments will strengthen and modernize the Act. This includes changes to the Board of Regents to allow for teaching staff on the board. Changes also include using gender-neutral language to modernize the Act as well as administrative changes to update the names of certain Acts and government departments.
