Healthy easting starts with following Canada's Food Guide, says Nutritionist Kailey Pauls

    Pauls says physical activity is also important for a healthy lifestyle and adults need about 150 minutes per week.

    It’s a new year and with that come new year resolutions which include diets for many. Kailey Pauls is a Regional Nutritionist with NL Health Services which means she deals with healthy eating. She says the foundation for healthy eating is by following the recommendations in Canada’s Food Guide which includes a variety of healthy foods each day, with proteins, fruits and vegetables. Pauls says physical activity is also important for a healthy lifestyle and adults need about 150 minutes per week. She says sleep is also important for a healthy lifestyle and adults need between 7-9 hours each day. Pauls says even though the New Year comes and you want to start fresh, it makes sense to take small steps  since they are more sustainable.
