A contract valued at approximately $450,000 has been awarded to Locke Electrical Limited for a new program trailer that will be located at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary in St. John’s. The contract includes the construction of a 20-foot by 40-foot double-wide trailer, preparation of a foundation for the structure, followed by assembly on the grounds of the penitentiary. The program trailer will be utilized for Adult Basic Education, literacy programs and pre-employment programming. Procurement is underway for a new admissions building, with construction to begin in 2025.
