    Industry Minister says need for power is growing with potential projects

    Parsons says the Julienne Lake deposit has the potential to support a high-purity iron ore mining operation for decades meaning lots of jobs and economic opportunities. 

    Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says more power will be needed as more processing starts in the province. This week, the department issued a call for expression of interest to process nearly 900 tonnes of iron ore from Julienne Lake in Labrador. Parsons says this is another reason for a greater power demand and work is underway with NL Hydro in order to be able to provide the power. He says the Julienne Lake deposit has the potential to support a high-purity iron ore mining operation for decades meaning lots of jobs and economic opportunities.
