Justice Minister John Hogan says “government remains committed to a new penitentiary, one that is fiscally responsible to taxpayers, and meets the evolving needs of staff and inmates. Now that the parameters of this project have been re-evaluated, the next phase of the process can begin.”
There is movement today in the replacement of Her Majesty’s Penitentiary. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has concluded the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process for the project. One submission was received from New Avalon Corrections Partners (NACP), who will now continue the procurement. The private sector partnership is led by Plenary Americas and PCL Investments.
