It's Nomination Day in the community of Steady Brook

    To run for council, a candidate must be at least 18, have been a resident of Steady Brook for at least 30 days, not in arrears on municipal taxes or charges and qualify under the Municipal Elections Act.

    Although most communities in NL held municipal elections on October 2nd, nomination day for the community of Steady Brook is this Monday, October 27th. Nominations must be in writing, with the candidate's full name and address, and have to be signed by both a proposer and a seconder. There is a $10, non-refundable fee due at the time of nomination. To run for council, a candidate must be at least 18, have been a resident of Steady Brook for at least 30 days, not in arrears on municipal taxes or charges and qualify under the Municipal Elections Act.
