Keeping the Mi'kmaq language alive

    Keeping the Mi’kmaq language and using signage is a big thing on Paul Pike’s agenda. Paul Pike is an Outreach Officer with the Qalipu First Nations band. He uses the language every chance he gets. Pike says the Mi’kmaq culture is all about relationships. Pike says not too long ago, children were taught to be ashamed of their native heritage. Pike says we have a long history of native heritage in this province but for a long time, it wasn’t on their radar. Pike was speaking on this week’s episode of Qalipu Today with Lenny Benoit.
