It happened just before midnight Monday.
Following a weekend of significant rain and flooding, a landslide came down onto Riverside Drive in Corner Brook just before midnight Monday night.
While reports are still unconfirmed at this time, there are indications that one or more vehicles are involved and possibly pushed into the Humber River.
Crews from the Corner Brook Fire Department and Bay of Islands Search & Rescue are presently on scene to conduct water-based searches, though there is no word on if anyone is missing either on land or in water.
Power is also out for nearly 1000 customers from Humbermouth to Irishtown-Summerside as a result of the landslide. Newfoundland Power crews are currently on-scene.
Riverside Drive has been closed in both directions. Stay tuned to BayFM for updates as they become available.
