This includes those under 16 years old, anyone registering an off-road vehicle for the first time or those who have had their off-road vehicle registration suspended or cancelled because of a conviction.

Starting October 15th, operator safety training will be mandatory for some users of off-road vehicles. This includes those under 16 years old, anyone registering an off-road vehicle for the first time or those who have had their off-road vehicle registration suspended or cancelled because of a conviction. As well, anyone who is supervising a person under the age of 16 who is operating an off-road vehicle will be required to ensure that the person has completed the training. More than 380 users have already completed the free safety training program, which has been available on MyGovNL since May 24, 2024.  Proof of successful completion of safety operator training must be carried at all times while using an off-road vehicle.
