Mayor Parsons says the Mt. Bernard project should be open in a couple of weeks.
Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says paving projects are wrapping up and it’s easy to see contractors clearing up water cuts and bigger potholes, getting ready to lay asphalt. He says motorists are being asked to be careful since there will be a lot of equipment around. Parsons says the Mt. Bernard project should be open in a couple of weeks. “This project had to be done to be able to flush the toilets at the new hospital,” he says. “Imagine having a building close to a billion dollars and not being able to flush the toilets.”
Parsons says Mt. Bernard is a major connecting avenue. “There are only two ways to cross the Corner Brook stream with north and south and Mt. Bernard is one of them,” he says.
Meanwhile, the city’s fall leaf collection is taking place this week on regular garbage days. Mayor Parsons reminds residents to use clear bags and try to get as much out as possible.
