More charges have been laid against a Port au Port man accused of attempted murder. 66-year-old Wayne Harold Hynes was arrested on March 17th, in relation to an incident that occurred in Port au Port on February 21st. A snowmobiler was shot while traveling across Gravel’s Pond and left with life-threatening injuries. RCMP Cpl Jolene Garland says more charges were laid on Tuesday. Hynes was also charged with using a firearm in the commission of a criminal offence, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent to endanger the life of an individual, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. Hynes remains in custody at this time. His next court appearance will take place on March 31st, 2025. The investigation is continuing.
