Politicians, Indigenous leaders and others attended a special ceremony in Woody Point yesterday recognizing the 50th anniversary of Gros Morne National park. Mi’kmaq Chief Misel Joe brought some entertainment to the gathering. Qalipu Chief Brendan Mitchell says it’s not just a celebration for Gros Morne but also the surrounding communities. Corner Brook MHA and Immigration Minister Gerry Byrne says Gros Morne is very rich in history. ACOA and Rural Economic development Minister Gudie Hutchings says government will continue to invest in Gros Morne National Park.
