Roosters already in place in the town can stay until their demise but cannot be replaced.
The town of Mt. Moriah is looking for public comments on a proposed amendment to development regulations that allow residents to keep roosters on their land. It’s been a concern in the community lately due to the noise. The existing entitlement is a total of ten birds on a lot but council is proposing to prohibit roosters except at the end of Serpentine Road in the agriculture area. Roosters already in place in the town can stay until their demise but cannot be replaced. Comments to the town must be submitted by October 2nd.
