The Nature Conservancy of Canada hosted a free online webinar this week for outdoor people, nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts or vacationers. The NCC’s Andrew Holland says there are a variety of tips for people planning on spending time outdoors, be prepared such as knowing where you are going, the types of trails, what wildlife is in the area to how to set up a tent and campsite. Holland says it’s important for people to take extra care of their dogs. Letting your dog off leash can pose a danger to your pet and other wildlife nesting in the area, and many dog owners are getting doggles to protect their pets eyes. Holland says it’s not okay to throw that apple core or banana peel into a bush since it takes a while to decompose and can also attract animals like bears.
