Premier Andrew Furey and Industry Minister Andrew Parsons hosted a delegation from Belgium last week. It took place Thursday and Friday, and included representatives from the Belgian Hydrogen Council as well as hydrogen companies and service providers in the energy industry. Industry Minister Andrew Parsons signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium. Parsons says this agreement will further enhance cooperation and assist in establishing a green shipping corridor to connect our Canadian renewable energy supply with European demand. Parsons was pleased to welcome Ambassador Gheel and the Belgian delegation to Newfoundland and Labrador. He says our jurisdictions are forging strong ties to foster successful renewable energy projects.
Meanwhile, anyone from Belgium who chooses to make NL their home, their driver's licenses will be recognized without having to do testing. The same applies to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who move abroad to Belgium. Newfoundland and Labrador currently has driver’s licence reciprocity agreements with Austria, France, Ireland, Isle of Man, Japan, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
