President Frances Drover says get ready to tantalize your sweet tooth with a variety of cakes including chocolate and pistachio served with ice cream, and a selection of pies, all donated and homemade.
The NLWest SPCA depends on the generosity of donators and contributions to care for the many cats, dogs, and other animal friends. Francis Drover is the President of NLWest SPCA. She says in order to raise necessary funds, they decided to have “A Desert Night” on Friday, May 9th at the Elks Club. The night will include a special guest server and lots of fun. Drover says get ready to tantalize your sweet tooth with a variety of cakes including chocolate and pistachio served with ice cream, and a selection of pies, all donated and homemade.
Drover says there are usually about 40 cats at the shelter where they are cared for until adoption. She says dogs take a little longer to find a home because they need extra training to deal with issues like separation anxiety. The shelter covers an area from Gallants to southern Labrador and as far east as Baie Verte.
