No movement on snow crab prices: ASP

The Association of Seafood Producers is standing firm on the price for snow crab at $2.20 a pound.

The Price Setting Panel sets the amount, which has now dropped another dollar a pound. ASP Executive Director Jeff Loder says they won’t be seeking a lower price. Loder says some harvesters want to fish, but are afraid of what might happen if they do. He still expects to have a crab fishery this year and hopes to have issues resolved in the next 3-5 weeks. The season wraps up this fall.
